Blue Wheaten Ameraucanas
We have had our Blue Wheaten Ameraucanas for about a year now. We especially love the soft, cream color of the hens. There are 3 colors in the Wheaten / Blue Wheaten Ameraucanas. Wheaten, Blue Wheaten & Splash Wheaten. You can see the difference the most in the roosters. The hens will all be a cream color. A wheaten hen will have a few black tail feathers and sometimes a touch of black around the tail & wings. With a blue wheaten hen it will be blue, and a splash hen will be solid cream. They lay a light blue egg and are real popular with people buying farm fresh eggs. We currently have two Blue Wheaten roosters with Wheaten, Blue Wheaten hens.
