Light Sussex

Our Light Sussex birds also came from Greenfire Farms. In 2007, they imported them to the US from championship stock in Australia. Light Sussex are still rare in the US and many that are available are inferior to this imported line. They are pure white with black hackles, tail and wing tips. They are a very striking bird. We really enjoy how friendly the Sussex breeds are. They are very curious and will come up and eat out of your hand. I haven't seen a breed this curious before. We  are currently crossing our Light Sussex hens with our Coronation rooster. The chicks will have a recessive coronation (lavender) gene. When bred back to each other will produce Light & Coronation chicks. Check out our breeding chart to better understand the genetics.
